Brigadier R.S. Jamwal (Retd.)

Founder & Director – Lakshya Defence Academy, Jammu

Brigadier R.S. Jamwal, a highly accomplished officer of the Indian Army, began his distinguished journey at The Lawrence School, Sanawar (Shimla Hills). He joined the National Defence Academy (NDA) in 1973 and was commissioned into the Indian Army in 1976.

During his 36 years of service, Brigadier Jamwal earned multiple academic degrees including a B.Sc., M.Sc., and MBA, all while in uniform. He is an alumnus of prestigious defence institutions:

·       National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla (Pune)

.     Indian Military Academy, Dehra Dun

.     Infantry School, Belgaum and Mhow

.     Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School, Vairangte 

.     College of Combat, Mhow

.     Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington

·       Joint Services Staff College, Canberra (Australia)

·       College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad

His military career includes key postings in India and abroad, having served in Namibia and Australia, and visited over a dozen countries including USA, Canada, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Dubai, Kenya, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Sri Lanka.

Brigadier Jamwal has also served in multiple warlike operational zones, including Mizoram, Nagaland, Srinagar, and the Siachen Glacier (the highest battlefield in the world).

Visionary Founder

After retiring from active service in July 2012, Brigadier Jamwal founded Lakshya Defence Academy, Jammu, on 01 July 2014. His vision was to create a dedicated training institution in Jammu, for aspiring Officers and Soldiers/Constables of all Belt Forces. Since then, under his leadership, the academy has become one of the most trusted defence coaching institutes in North India.

Mrs. Geeta Jamwal

Joint Director – Lakshya Defence Academy, Jammu

Mrs. Geeta Jamwal is a dedicated educationist with a strong background in both teaching and academic administration. She is a graduate of Government Degree College, Gurdaspur, and holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from DAV College, Hoshiarpur.

Her early career includes teaching at Army School, Pathankot, after which she took on the role of Director at Army Public School, Sanjuwan, where she honed her leadership and academic management skills.

A well-traveled individual, Mrs. Jamwal has visited Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Canada, the USA, Dubai, and Sri Lanka, gaining exposure to diverse cultures and educational practices.
